Today's NYT Wordle Puzzle Game for 09/16/2024

Before we dive into today's article, let's talk Wordle! If you're stuck, here are a few hints to help you along the way:

  • Number of vowels: Today's answer contains two vowels.
  • First letter: The word starts with the letter H.
  • Repeated letters: There are no repeated letters in the answer.
  • General tip: Think of something sweet that could be spread on toast!

Well, everyone, it’s Monday, September 16th, 2024, and  One of these days, I’m going to trick you and say I’m Ryan Seacrest—just to see if anyone catches on. Anyway, let’s jump into today’s Wordle adventure!

A New Starting Word Suggestion

Today's journey starts with a suggestion from Judy3962, who writes in: "I just bought a new blender, so try ‘blend’ as a starting word." I love it, Judy! A fresh blender—tell me more about your kitchen gadget obsession because I'm a KitchenAid fan myself.

So, let’s try blend and see where it gets us. Ah, not bad at all! We've got an E and an N out of position. It’s a good start with plenty to work with.

Getting Sneaky with Guesses

Now, I’m thinking of mixing things up—how about sneak? It’s always fun to use a letter you don't often try early on, like the K. However, I realize we’ve already tested E in the third position, so that won't work. Hey, mistakes happen—it's all part of the game, right?

Analyzing the Letters

At this point, I’m starting to get fixated on that E and N combo. Let’s get creative and put them in different positions. How about trying inact (A, E, N, A, C)? Unfortunately, that was a miss, but we still have the E and N out of position, so it's not a total loss.

Let’s shift gears and think about other options with the E and N in the second and third positions. I’m visualizing something like fence, but that doesn’t fit because we’ve already tested the C.

Visualizing Success

Okay, now we’re cooking! What if we try putting the N in the middle and the E at the end? It opens up a lot of possibilities. I was thinking about canoe, but we’ve already used the C. How about money? That feels like a strong guess, even if it doesn’t quite hit the mark.

A Sweet Ending

The guess money wasn't right, but we struck gold (or should I say "sweetness"?)—the letters O, N, E, and Y all locked into place! There’s only one obvious answer left: honey.

And there it is! A sweet ending to today’s Wordle challenge. It’s always satisfying when those elusive letters finally fall into place.

Final Thoughts

Today's Wordle was a little frustrating at times, but with patience and thoughtful analysis, we got there in the end. That's what I love about Wordle—no matter how tricky the puzzle, there’s always a moment of triumph when everything clicks.

I’m curious to hear how you did with today’s puzzle! One of the best parts of this community is seeing all your strategies and starting word suggestions in the comments. Keep them coming!
