Blue Category:
The first connection that jumps out at me is things you can lose:
Marbles – "Losing your marbles."
Mind – "Losing your mind."
Wits – "Losing your wits."
Sense – "Losing your sense."
That feels like a solid group. Let’s submit it… and yes! That’s the blue category. Off to a good start!
Yellow Category:
Looking at the remaining words, I see another potential category: Words related to hesitation or indecision.
Yo-Yo – Going back and forth.
Waffle – Indecisiveness.
Waiver – Hesitation before committing.
Hesitate – Literal hesitation.
That looks promising. Submitting it… and it’s correct! This is the yellow category.
Green Category:
Now, things get tricky. I still have words like Angel, Genie, Bell, Doll, Peach, and Dear. What connects them?
After some thinking, I realize these might describe lovely or endearing people:
Angel – A term of endearment.
Doll – "She’s such a doll."
Dear – A homophone for "dear."
Peach – "You’re a peach!"
Taking a chance… and yes! That’s the green category. I wasn’t expecting "peach" to fit here, but it works.
Purple Category:
Only four words remain: Bell, Toothpaste, Egg, and Genie. This one is tough! Let’s think about metaphors or idioms.
I suddenly realize these are all things that cannot be undone:
Bell – "You can’t unring a bell."
Egg – "You can’t unbreak an egg."
Genie – "You can’t put the genie back in the bottle."
Toothpaste – "You can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube."
That’s an interesting theme! Submitting it… and it’s correct! This is the purple category.
Final Thoughts
Wow, what a puzzle! The "things you can’t undo" category was especially tricky, but I loved the cleverness behind it. I’ll give myself two points for today—one for getting the indecisive words right and one for the "things you can lose" category.
If you managed to figure out the "things you can't undo" category before me, take full credit in the comments—you definitely earned it!
As always, thanks for playing along. If you enjoy these puzzles, See you tomorrow for another round of Connections!
