today's NYT Wordle Puzzle Game for 2/3/2025

Welcome back, everyone! It’s Monday, February 3, 2025, and That means it’s time to tackle today's Wordle!

Today’s game took an interesting turn thanks to a suggestion from a good friend of the show, Jonas Bomgardner. He recommended a starting word that has no vowels at all—“Glyph.” That’s right, no A, E, I, O, or U, just the sometimes-vowel Y. It’s an unusual but intriguing choice, featuring high-quality consonants. So, let’s see how it played out!

Strikeout with "Glyph"

Well, right off the bat, Glyph gave us nothing. That’s right—zero correct letters. A complete strikeout! When this happens, the typical response is to swing in the opposite direction, and that means a word packed with vowels.

Second Guess: "Audio"

With no vowels in the first word, I chose "Audio", which contains four of the five main vowels (A, U, I, and O) while also bringing in a D. Statistically, it seemed like a strong move, but the result? Only a U—out of position.

That wasn’t exactly the wealth of information I was hoping for, but it did confirm one thing: there was no A, I, or O in today’s Wordle answer.

Narrowing Down the Wordle Clue

Now that we had only a U confirmed and misplaced, I needed to rethink my approach. Given the limited vowels, the most likely pattern was a U in the middle surrounded by strong consonants.

Third Guess: "Trunk"

Since T, R, N, and K are all common letters and the U had to be placed, "Trunk" felt like a strong candidate. However, when I submitted the guess, I found out that the U wasn’t in the middle! The only letter we placed correctly was R.

Finding Today’s Wordle Answer

At this point, I had three guesses left, and the U still wasn’t placed. I considered words where the U might sit in the fourth position, and one strong possibility stood out:

Fourth Guess: "Serum"

This was a great choice because it introduced E into the mix, which I hadn’t tested yet. When I played it, I finally got a breakthrough—E and U were correctly placed!

With just two guesses left, I had to carefully analyze what could fit in the E-U pattern.

Fifth Guess: "Recur"

I debated between "Recur" and "Review" as possible answers. "Recur" seemed like a logical fit, but when I submitted it, I found that the R was at the beginning, confirming that my final guess had to be "Review."

Sixth Guess: "Revue" – The Correct Answer!

With no other possibilities remaining, I confidently submitted "Revue" as today’s Wordle answer. And bingo! That was the word!

Lessons from Today's Wordle Puzzle

This was a tough solve, taking me all six guesses. Starting with "Glyph" might not have been the best strategy, as it left me scrambling for vowels. But that’s part of the fun of Wordle—you never know how things will unfold!

How Did You Do?

Let me know in the comments if today’s Wordle answer, "Revue", tripped you up! Did you also struggle with getting the vowels placed? Or did you find today’s Wordle answer much faster than I did?
