Well, hello everyone! It’s Saturday, March 15, 2025, and it is time once again to play some Wordle. Today’s first word comes from Randy Atwood, who suggests "Roman" in honor of the Ides of March. I love that—it’s a great March-themed word. So, let’s dive right in and see how it plays out!
Today's Wordle Hints – March 15, 2025
General Hints:
- The word contains two vowels.
- It has one repeated letter.
- It is a common five-letter kitchen-related word.
- It is used for serving liquid-based foods like soup or sauce.
Example-Based Hints:
A Chef’s Essential Tool:
In the heart of a bustling restaurant kitchen, steam rises from a large pot of homemade soup. The head chef moves quickly, carefully scooping the rich broth and chunky vegetables into a bowl. With a steady hand, they serve dish after dish, ensuring each portion is just right. Without this tool, the job would be messy and inefficient. What is the name of this essential kitchen utensil?
A Home Cook’s Best Friend:
It’s a chilly evening, and you decide to make a warm, hearty stew. The pot on the stove is bubbling with rich flavors, and it’s time to serve. You open the drawer, reach for a long-handled tool with a deep, round bowl at the end, and use it to scoop the perfect portion into your dish. It’s something found in almost every kitchen, making it easier to serve soups, stews, and even punch. What is this handy kitchen tool?
The Soup is Ready!
You’re at a family gathering, and a big pot of chicken noodle soup is the star of the meal. One by one, guests come up with their bowls, eager to be served. Instead of using a regular spoon, you grab a larger utensil designed specifically for handling liquids. With each scoop, you distribute the broth, noodles, and vegetables evenly, making sure no one gets too little or too much. What is the name of this serving utensil?
A Fairy Tale Connection:
In the classic nursery rhyme Hey Diddle Diddle, a dish famously runs away with a spoon. But imagine if another kitchen tool joined in on the fun. Instead of a simple spoon, picture a deep, round utensil bouncing along, ready to scoop up adventure! Often used for serving soup, this tool might not be as quick as a spoon, but it certainly plays an important role in the kitchen. What is this object?

First Guess: Roman
Second Guess: Clasp
With the A in the mix but misplaced, I wanted to try something a little different from my usual approach. I decided to go with "Clasp" to put the A in the middle and test a fresh set of consonants. I’ve been liking these vowel-in-the-middle words lately—they tend to provide good intel.
The result? We locked in an L, and the A is still out of position. So now we have two letters to work with, but they’re still not in their rightful places.
Third Guess: Laugh
Now, I was determined to move both the L and A into better positions. I considered words like "Latch," but we already tested C in "Clasp." Instead, I decided on "Laugh"—it gives us another vowel check, and hey, who doesn’t love a good laugh?
The outcome? We finally locked the L and A into their correct spots. That’s big! We’re getting closer now.
Fourth Guess: Laity
At this point, I started thinking carefully about possible words that could fit this structure. I ruled out additional O’s and U’s since we already eliminated them. I had a strong hunch that there would be an E involved.
I considered words like "Latex," but that felt risky. Instead, I decided on "Laity" to test some key letters that might help confirm our direction.
Unfortunately, every single letter came up gray. That was a gut punch! Now I knew for sure that there had to be an E, and I needed to rethink my options.
Fifth Guess: Label
After reviewing my options, I realized that "Label" or "Ladle" were likely candidates. I figured if I guessed "Label," it would either be correct or guide me directly to "Ladle." It was a calculated risk, but I was feeling pretty confident.
The result? The second L and the E were in the wrong spots, and the B was completely incorrect. That meant only one thing…
Sixth Guess: Ladle
This was it—one guess left, and I had to get it right. Given everything we learned from "Label," "Ladle" was the only possibility remaining.
With deep breaths, I locked it in.
And… YES! The answer was "Ladle."
Final Thoughts
Wow, this one took it right down to the wire. Six guesses—no room for error! It was a tricky word, and I’m curious to see how everyone else fared. Did you find "Ladle" quickly, or did it take you all six tries like me?
Let me know in the comments! And don’t forget—tomorrow is Sunday, and we’re starting with "Windy." See you then for another round of Wordle!
