Today Wordle Hints and Answer for March 13, 2025

Hello, everyone! It’s Thursday, March 13, 2025, and that means it’s time once again to play some Wordle, and today’s game comes with a little inspiration from America’s favorite pastime—baseball!

Earlier, my good friend Ron Coning wrote in with a timely reminder: March is baseball’s spring training season. That got me thinking. With so many great words related to the sport, it only made sense to incorporate one into today’s puzzle. Ron even suggested a few, throwing out words like pitch, bases, homer, catch, throw, slide, and steal. With such an impressive lineup, it was hard to choose, but after a moment of deliberation, I decided to go with the very first word on the list: pitch.

It felt like the right call. It’s a simple yet strong word, directly tied to the game, and seemed like a solid opening move. More importantly, I hoped it would be right down the middle, setting me up for an easy play. So, with a bit of optimism, I locked in pitch as my first guess and waited to see what the game had in store for me.

First Guess: Pitch

First Guess: Pitch

As the results came in, I saw that my starting word had given me something to work with. The letters C and H appeared in the puzzle, though unfortunately, they were out of position. That meant they were in the word somewhere, just not in the spots I had them. It wasn’t the kind of grand slam opening I was hoping for, but at least I had a couple of letters to build on.

At this point, I needed to think of a new word that used C and H but placed them differently. I also wanted to introduce more vowels to expand my search. There were plenty of ways to go, but I wanted to stick with my baseball theme if possible. That’s when it hit me—toward the end of the season, teams are always chasing each other, trying to secure a playoff spot. The word chase not only made sense thematically, but it also allowed me to test the letters A and E, which seemed like a wise move.

Second Guess: Chase

I entered the word chase and pressed submit, hoping it would get me a little closer to the answer. And then, just like that, the puzzle turned green.

Second Guess: Chase

The answer was CHASE.

It was a thrilling moment. A two-guess solve! There’s something incredibly satisfying about landing on the answer so quickly, and this one felt particularly great because it made perfect sense. I had pulled out the C and H from pitch, rearranged them, and introduced just the right vowels to land on the winning word. It was one of those times when common sense and a little bit of luck worked together perfectly.

I couldn’t help but hear the voice of legendary Yankees announcer Phil Rizzuto in my head, exclaiming, "It’s a home run!" It really did feel like knocking one out of the park.

This marks another week where I’ve managed to get at least one two-guess solve, and honestly, I’m loving this streak of good luck. Wordle has a way of surprising me sometimes, but today everything just seemed to fall into place. If this were a real baseball game, I’d say that was a walk-off win. And with that, I think I’ve officially run out of baseball puns—at least for today.

Tomorrow Word

Tomorrow is Fearless Friday, and that means one thing—I’m about to pick a completely ridiculous, suboptimal starting word just to see what happens. This tradition makes things a little more unpredictable and a lot more fun.

For March 14, 2025, I’ve decided to go with the word "Quant."

Yes, you read that correctly. Q, U, A, N, T. It’s a strange one, and I have no idea how it will play out, but that’s part of the challenge. I’ll be walking into the game blind, with a tough word that probably won’t give me much to work with. But hey, that’s what Fearless Friday is all about!

Be sure to join me tomorrow for another round of Wordle, and let’s see if we can keep the streak alive.
