First Guess: APPLE

Starting with Apple, we get:
  • A yellow E (out of position)

Not a bad start! We always appreciate having at least one letter to work with. Now, let's think about the best way to proceed.

Second Guess: REMIT

To mix things up, I decided to go with Remit next. This allows us to reposition the E while introducing R, M, I, and T—a fresh set of letters to explore.

The result:

  • E is now green (locked in place)

  • I and T are yellow (out of position)

This is getting interesting! We now know three of the letters but still need to place them correctly.

Third Guess: VENTI

Looking at our available letters, my first thought was Venti—yes, the Starbucks coffee size! Now, I wasn’t entirely sure if this would be on the official Wordle list, but curiosity got the best of me. And guess what?
  • T is now green (locked in place)

  • I is still yellow (out of position)

We’re getting closer! However, the I is proving tricky. My instincts told me that it shouldn't be in the third spot, given the classic “I before E except after C” rule I learned in school. But was I remembering that rule correctly? Time to reconsider our placement strategy.

Fourth Guess: DEITY

After struggling with where to place the I, I thought of Deity. It seemed like a solid guess, but I hesitated because of my confusion around spelling rules. Still, it felt like the best option available.

And the result?

Correct! The answer is DEITY!

This was a fun Wordle today! The challenge wasn’t just finding the right word but also re-evaluating an old spelling rule I thought I understood. Turns out, the “I before E except after C” rule isn’t as hard and fast as I remembered. If you have any thoughts or clarifications on that, let me know in the comments!

Tomorrow's Starting Word

Tomorrow is Monday, and we’ll be kicking off our Wordle journey with the word Clasp. That should make for an interesting puzzle!

As always, thank you so much for reading and playing along. If you enjoy these daily Wordle challenges, please do come back dialy! See you tomorrow for another round of Wordle fun!
